I’m Eric Garner Johnson.
I’ve spent most of my life around people living through extraordinary circumstances—sometimes because of my work, sometimes because life has a way of putting remarkable people in your path.
I’ve worked in corrections. I drove a taxi for fifteen years, mostly on the night shift. I’ve seen courage, fear, humor, tragedy, and the strange moments that don’t fit neatly into any category. Those experiences taught me that the most interesting stories aren’t about perfect heroes. They’re about ordinary people making impossible decisions.
That’s the kind of fiction I write.
My novels blend fantasy, science fiction, horror, and adventure, but they’re always driven by one question:
What does a good person do when there isn’t a good choice?
Whether it’s a cowboy standing against monsters in the Old West, travelers stranded between worlds, or a young SpellCaster learning what duty really costs, my characters earn every victory they achieve.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually building the worlds behind the stories—creating history, organizations, field manuals, and forgotten documents that make those worlds feel lived in long before the first chapter begins.
